White is by far the most popular and common colour used in bathroom resurfacing, on both wall tiles and fixtures, due to its nature of never outdating and the clean, bright overall effect it has in the bathroom. If you desire another colour these can also be skilfully matched and applied to suit your requirements.

Basins, vanities etc may be resurfaced but if no other resurfacing is to be carried out, these may be more cost effective to be replaced due to their "removable" nature.

Advanced Resurfacing does not recommend or offer services in floor tile resurfacing but can advise and help you on other possible solutions.

With Advanced Resurfacing's detail towards all prep work and quality of materials used throughout the whole bathroom resurfacing process, you will be left with bright, shiny easy to clean surfaces to last for many years giving the longest lasting results over other methods.

Tiles should always be resurfaced over a couple of days allowing sufficient time to dry after proper wet cleaning, etching and grout repairs.

The tile resurfacing process for wall tiles is outlined below and is similar to the bath resurfacing process. The success of all bathroom resurfacing depends on thorough preparation and skilled application.

  • Remove plumbing fittings where possible that are in contact with the areas to be resurfaced. Plumber may be required to remove some fixtures and fittings.
  • Fix any loose tiles where needed. Grind out any holes, chips and cracks.
  • Removal of silicone and all traces of where resurfacing is to be carried out.
  • Wet cleaning to remove soap residue and any other contaminates.
  • Complete a surface prepping process (etching) on the tile surface. This is imperative to maximise bond strength and long term adhesion of the finished product.
  • Clean out and re-grout where necessary to give smooth, well-profiled grout lines.
  • Let dry overnight.
  • Fill and sand any holes, cracks and chips.
  • Mask and protect other surfaces from any possible overspray where needed.
  • Spray on primer (undercoat) system. This provides maximum adhesion of both a chemical and mechanical bond between the original surface and the following top coats.
  • The top coats are then sprayed on. The coating system does not need to dry in between each coat but sufficient time is given between to allow solvents to evaporate. This procedure allows for a greater thickness to be achieved with also having superior coverage over grout lines.
  • Clear away all masking and rubbish.
